About Me

Ben Drolet Awards

Ben Drolet is an award winning illustrator & designer who has been running art departments at various companies for more than 15 years. Ben comes from a long line of artists and spent most of his childhood in or around his mothers art studio or his fathers print shop.  After finishing his college education in New York, Ben moved to California where he began his professional career as an artist.

In his first jobs, Ben focused on printed media designing page layouts, brochures, flyers and mailers for various companies in the cosmetics field while learning to use high end pro photo equipment for model and product shots. Later, Ben moved up to the automotive marketing and design field creating renderings and design for companies such as Stillen, SSE, AP Racing, Nissan, Chevrolet, Shelby, Tonka and more. Here, he learned the ins and outs of product design, product photography and large scale catalog layout and design while creating nearly 10,000 pages of layout.

From there, Ben went into web design, learning the subtle tricks to optimize conversions and landing page design theory while creating hundreds of websites, landers, eblasts, full sites and banners in an agency setting.  The next step was into video game design as a UI/UX designer and was quickly promoted to Lead Product Designer at a blossoming game studio.  During this time he shipped seven titles including three Facebook games, two Android games and an iOS title developed in conjunction with the Make A Wish Foundation AZ.

Now, with a wide variety of tools at his disposal, he is the Creative Director for a marketing agency and spends his time studying and designing user interface on desktop and mobile devices as well as entire corporate branding packages.  Some of his branding clients include Larry Fitzgerald, Greg Jennings, LMFAO, and Rockstar. The rest of his time is spent painting award winning magazine covers for one of the biggest medical companies in the world or building furniture and tinkering in his garage.  Below is a list of awards and special recognition that Ben’s work has received over the years.
